That is not where wax melts go!

I went on a shopping trip with my sister and noticed that she bought scented wax melts.

I didn’t think much about it.

I like those little wax melts too. I have a few wax warmers at my house. What did surprise me is what my sister did with the wax melts once we got to her home. She opened up the vent cover to her HVAC duct and she threw one of the melts down inside of it. Then she went to another room and did the same thing. As she was about to throw the third wax melt down the third duct I stopped her and asked what she was doing. She explain that there is a bad smell coming from her HVAC system and that this is the only way to stop the smell. She said she’s been throwing the wax melts down the duct work for a few months now. My jaw hit the floor. You can’t do that to your HVAC system! I told her as much. Those wax melts don’t just disappear inside of the ductwork. They stay in there and clog everything up. If the HVAC system smells then she needs to hire a professional HVAC technician to come out and clean everything. I told her not to have them neglect the ductwork system. Those wax melts need to be removed. My sister seemed to listen to me but I’m not sure she is going to call the HVAC company any time soon. Oh well, it is her HVAC system. When she has to pay thousand of dollars to fix, or repair it,
