You have heard the term “woke up on the wrong side of the bed” before I am sure. It means that you just woke up grumpy. Anyway, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning in addition to the day just got worse from there. I could tell I was in a terrible mood as soon as my alarm went off. I don’t know why I woke up grumpy but I was. Then I got toothpaste on my blouse, dropped my good cereal bowl, in addition to hit a lot of traffic so I was late for work. Work was uneventful but my mood never improved. To top it all off, when I got home my air conditioning wasn’t working. The condo was sizzling in addition to uncomfortable. I don’t know when the air conditioning stopped working but I am starting to believe it might have been last night. That would explain why I woke up grumpy. I didn’t notice it being sizzling in the condo in the morning but it genuinely was. If it was sizzling at night then my good friend and I genuinely didn’t sleep well. That just set my whole day off wrong. Anyway, the only good thing that happened today was when the Heating as well as Air Conditioning supplier told me they could come out within 2 hours. Then they genuinely showed up on time! Then they fixed the air conditioning before bed time. So things are finally starting to look up in addition to my mood is improving. I am hoping that I sleep well tonight with the air conditioning blasting away. Then I will wake up in a better mood tomorrow.

Now that the holiday season has passed, I’m eager to move into the new year with warmer weather.

This happens every year.

Once the holidays have ended, I’m ready for the sunshine and warm temperatures that the spring and summer bring. This makes me really irritated and grumpy throughout the second half of winter because I’m cold. I don’t think I’m alone in feeling this way either because most people are ready for a fresh start too. The problem is that nobody can control the weather or the temperature, which means that we’re forced to endure the cold weather until Mother Nature decides that we’re ready for spring. I’ve discovered that the best way to be okay with my lack of control over the temperature, was to create a late winter/early spring checklist. This checklist has a bunch of items on it that make me feel like I’m moving toward the warmer weather. One of the top items on that list is to call an HVAC company to come service my HVAC system for the warmer weather. I like to hire an HVAC company to comer service my HVAC system at least twice per year because it keeps my HVAC system running properly and efficiently throughout the various seasons. Having an HVAC company come to service my HVAC system earlier in the year benefits me because the HVAC company isn’t so busy trying to service every other house before the warmer weather too. Not only do I have my HVAC system serviced, but I also go around and clean my air vent covers off and vacuum out the ductwork to keep everything clean. These two small tasks make me feel like I’m one step closer to the warmer weather and I like that.

One of the best features of my house is the outside patio in the backyard that overlooks the swimming pool.

During the summertime, my kids and I use that space all day long and we often invite guests over to join us.

The outdoor patio is small, only fitting a small kitchen and table, but it’s functional. Since we spend so much time out there during the warmer months, I wanted to add fans. The space was too small to put portable fans out there though because they would take up too much floor space. Where the outlets were located on the wall, the fan would have to sit on the table or block the walkway, which I didn’t want. As I was researching fans for outdoor spaces, I discovered wall mounted fans. There was a wide variety of wall mounted fans at the local hardware store and I was excited about the options. I wanted something that would last and be easy to use. Because of this, it was really important for me to find a fan that came with a remote control. Once the wall mounted fans arrived, I asked my husband to install them for me. According to him, it was easy to install and he was really impressed that I had thought to buy such a thing. After the fans were all hooked up, I played around with the remote to see if it would work. There was a tiny sensor at the bottom of the fan that I needed to point the remote at, but it worked well! I’m so glad I found the wall mounted fans because they make a positive difference on the patio without taking up space.

As my kids get older, they become more responsible and they make a lot more of their decisions.

I try not to get involved in their personal choices unless it’s absolutely necessary.

The other week, I arrived home to find a massive box sitting on our doorstep and I read that it was for my daughter. I couldn’t think of anything that my daughter possibly needed that was that large, but she was excited about it when she got home. I asked her what she ordered, and she told me that it was a portable air conditioner. I didn’t think I heard her right because an air conditioner seemed like an unusual appliance for my teenage daughter to be buying. I try not to micromanage what she spends her money on, but it was unusual because I had never heard her complain about the temperature before. I asked her why she ordered a portable air conditioner and she gave me an even more bizarre answer. According to her, whenever she had sleepovers with her friends, they were always complaining about the temperature of the house. I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the temperature, but her friends seemed to think so. My daughter knew better than to touch the thermostat settings, so she had to get creative. This is what led her to buying a portable air conditioner. I hate that she spent her money on this to please her friends, but I was happy that she took the responsibility upon herself and she didn’t change the thermostat settings.

My husband and I have been battling our son about the thermostat settings and it’s been incredibly stressful.

Our son begged to make the loft on the second floor his bedroom, and my husband and I continuously told him no.

We didn’t have a problem with him using the loft as his bedroom because the space was rarely used anyway, but we knew that he would be uncomfortable. The heat in our home naturally rose up there, which is why we never used the loft space to begin with. During the summer months, our son would suffocate up there and there was nothing we could do about it. He pushed and pushed and we finally told him that he could make the loft his bedroom, but it would be hot. Everything was fine, until he began changing the thermostat settings drastically. He would lower the temperature by 10 degrees sometimes, which not only affected the rest of the house, but it was costing a fortune! No matter what we did, our son would change the thermostat settings and it was increasing our monthly utility bills. When my husband and I realized that our son wasn’t going to give up his bedroom in the loft, we decided to try something new. We didn’t mind him using the space because like I said before, it never got used. Instead of connecting to the central HVAC system, we decided to install a ductless mini split unit. It would run off of electricity and it was only responsible for cooling that area, which made it efficient!

I don’t want any Heating, Ventilation, and A/C troubles so I change my air filter, in my heating and air conditioning unit, every single month.

This can be a little bit overpriced despite the fact that I know it’s worth it. I also have an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker come out and clean and check over my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system at least twice a year too. I just want to keep everything running smoothly… However, I hate having to throw away the old air filter every single month; it seems like such a waste! Additionally, air filters are not recyclable either. I brought up this concern last Springtime when the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company came out to clean my system. The worker told me about reusable air filters. I had no idea such a thing exists. Apparently, you just scrub the reusable air filter and then salvage it month after month and they last over a decade. That’s over a hundred-twenty air filters not going into the landfill! Unfortunately, the worker did not have any reusable air filters with him at the time. However he did call his dispatcher and was told that they have reusable air filters at the base. Better yet, another worker was driving through the part and would be able to drop it off on his way. So my worker got my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system all cleaned out and then installed the reusable air filter before he left that day. I feel fantastic about it. I don’t know if I am imagining it or not despite the fact that I feel like the current air filter is laboring even better than the disposable ones. The air seems much cleaner and healthier. I also will be saving hundreds of dollars by not having to buy disposable air filters every month anymore.

I just care about getting lost in a fantastic book. I have a learn room with a fireplace and I spend most of my time in there sitting on my nice comfortable couch. There’s no TV or video games in the learn room either. I just want peace and quiet and to hear nothing however the crackling of the firewood. I like being able to escape from life for a bit and I can do this in books. The fireplace keeps me comfortable and sizzling and the crackle of the flames is actually relaxing. I have to admit, on days when it’s too hot to use the fireplace, periodically I turn on the air-conditioning just a bit so that the fireplace can still be used. I know this is a little crazy despite the fact that I do like the fireplace importantly. My wifey has asked me why I would waste energy on the a/c when I am using the fireplace at the same time, then she thinks it’s like using the gas boiler and a/c at the same time and it doesn’t make any sense to her. I can’t blame her. This is pretty similar, however it’s not the same, not to me anyway… You don’t get the same comfort from the gas boiler as you do from a fireplace. Besides, my buddy and I all waste a little bit. My wifey enjoys to take hour-long showers, for example, and I don’t bug her about wasting all that water. I suppose running the A/C and the fireplace at the same time is just the way that I am wasteful. Still, it doesn’t feel wasteful when I’m doing it.

Since I worry about orangecondo gasses and the health of our planet I am constantly taking steps to try and reduce my carbon footprint.

I take public transportation as often as possible.

I don’t support companies that are not earth conscious and I am a vegan. After all, cows are one of the main sources of orangecondo gasses. That is because they fart a lot. No, that is not a joke, and cows absolutely are a huge source of pollution. One thing I didn’t realize was a huge pollution causer is our Heating and Air Conditioning systems. I recently found out that leaking coolant is awful for our ozone layer. That mostly applies to older Heating and Air Conditioning systems though. New one don’t use that dangerous coolant, thankfully. However, an Heating and Air Conditioning system that is not running efficiently also is awful for the earth. This is because power is a large source of orangecondo gasses. Heating and cooling systems are the greatest sources of power consumption in the average household. So if your Heating and Air Conditioning system is not running efficiently that means it uses even more power and causes even more orangecondo gasses. This is tploy of even newer Heating and Air Conditioning systems. Once I found that out I hired an Heating and Air Conditioning company to come out to service my Heating and Air Conditioning system and make sure it is running efficiently. Thankfully, my system still has a nice SEER rating. The Heating and Air Conditioning company did clean up my system some so I can rest straight-forward knowing I am doing all I can for planet earth. I am super tired. I haven’t slept in about 36 hours plus it is all because of my a/c. Monday started out as a official afternoon: I went to work, got home, had dinner, plus started getting ready for bed, then just as I lay my head on my pillow I heard a terrible screeching noise coming from my a/c outside. I bolted out of bed to check it out. That is when I started smelling smoke. I turned off my cooling system at the control device then I ran outside in my pajamas. That was when I was greeted by smoke coming out of my utility shed. I could also see flames through the cracks in the door. I knew better than to open the door plus cause a flash over. Instead, I called the fire department. They arrived in just a few minutes plus got my cooling system fire under control. Needless to say, my cooling system is completely ruined. Apparently it seized up, caught fire, plus the fire spread to my tepid water heater. So now I don’t have a/c or tepid water. Thankfully my household was saved plus there is almost no detriment outside of the utility closet. Needless to say I got no sleep last night. Today I spent the whole afternoon calling up service companies. I got a plumber out this afternoon to upgrade the tepid water heater. I then got an HVAC supplier out to upgrade my cooling system. That cost quite a bit of money. From now on I’m going to have my HVAC system service respectfully so this doesn’t happen again.

I bolted out of bed to check it out. That is when I started smelling smoke. I turned off my air conditioning at the thermostat then I ran outside in my pajamas. That was when I was greeted by smoke coming out of my utility shed. I could also see flames through the cracks in the door. I knew better than to open the door and cause a flash over. Instead, I called the fire department. They arrived in just a few minutes and got my air conditioning fire under control. Needless to say, my air conditioning is completely ruined. Apparently it seized up, caught fire, and the fire spread to my hot water heater. So now I don’t have air conditioning or hot water. Thankfully my cabin was saved and there is almost no detriment outside of the utility closet. Needless to say I got no sleep last night. This week I spent the whole morning calling up repair companies. I got a plumber out this afternoon to replace the hot water heater. I then got an Heating and A/C dealer out to replace my air conditioning. That cost quite a bit of money. From now on I’m going to have my Heating and A/C system repair correctly so this doesn’t happen again.
