I have had an oil furnace for the longest time taking care of all my home’s heating needs.
And recently when the oil furnace broke down once and for all and needed to be removed, I refused to switch to central heating like most people in my area have.
I wanted nothing more than to keep the oil furnace in my home. I found out that it would be six thousand dollars to replace the old oil furnace with a new oil furnace. This included the removal of the old oil furnace and installation of the new oil furnace. I got this direct from the free estimate that the local heating and air conditioning company gave to me on it all. My family thinks I am crazy to pay 6 grand to get a new oil furnace when I should just get a brand new and totally up to date central heating and air conditioning system. However, I do not want a brand new and totally up to date central heating and air conditioning system! Central air conditioning is fine and that’s what I have now, but for my heating I want nothing more than my original oil furnace. Call it nostalgia, call it i’m set in my ways or whatever you want. But the oil furnace is the only way for me to heat my happy home and keep it happy! I like the way the heating feels from the oil furnace. I don’t expect anyone to understand that does not own or has never had an oil furnace.
