When I first bought my house, I remember asking my mom for advice on what I should look for, but she gave me so several unusual stories, but the one I strictly remember but, is the one about the time she had a gas furnace, then it was quite some time ago.
She did not realize how much of a danger heating systems could be back then.
She had been having some complications with it and decided she would call in the day to the Heating, Ventilation and A/C supplier one day. By that time but, it was too late. That night while she was sleeping, she heard the carbon monoxide detector go off. She panicked and ran outside. She made sure to grab everybody before she did go outside. I had no idea that if a gas furnace malfunctions, it could leak carbon monoxide gas. This is gas that could potentially kill you if you are not careful. This is why she had a carbon monoxide detector in the first place, however not only was she having trouble heating her dwelling now, although she could not even go inside of her dwelling in the middle of the night. She instantly called the police to help her. She could not go back in until it was cleared out and save to breathe in it again. Now, her whole dwelling was freezing with all of the windows and doors opened. It was the middle of winter time and it was snowing. She said she would never get a gas furnace again. If she knew what she knows now, she would have never bought the dwelling or upgraded the system.
