When she asked if I could keep an eye on her special needs cat for a couple weeks I thought I’d be able to handle it if she prepared me enough. However, I never could’ve anticipated how hard it would be to deal with a handicapped cat when you can’t communicate plus you can hardly even lift her! Mobility complications aside, she legitimately could’ve given me more information about her cat, including her obvious hatred for central heating, cooling, plus air quality control equipment. Within the first few moments of having this special cat at my house, everything fell apart. I made the mistake of increasing my thermostat settings so my air-conditioning machine would kick into high gear. Unfortunately, this cat vehemently disagreed with my desire for better air quality. As soon as my cooling system began running, the cat began flailing around wildly. I couldn’t get him to calm down at all, until the air conditioner stopped providing high-quality treated indoor air into the house! Suddenly, the cat calmed down. However, for the past week, I’ve been unable to use my cooling system without having a chaotic disaster with my friend’s special cat. I never knew that a cat could be so difficult with a Heating plus Air Conditioning system. I will never watch her cat again.

I can’t simply adjust the thermostat and rely on the a/c component or forced air oil furnace to successfully treat the air inside my house. In fact, I have to watch my a/c component and oil furnace each day. When the AC component or furnace shuts down I’m pretty wonderful at repairing the issue myself, but I do have to call the HVAC service shop pretty regularly. What bothers me is that I never have the same heating and cooling technician twice. It seems like this HVAC service shop has an abundance of air quality control professionals or a rotating staff of HVAC professionals. I’m constantly having to re-explain my HVAC concerns to the newest technician before he gets started. In that amount of time, I genuinely could repair the air-conditioning component or oil furnace myself.

I can’t adjust the thermostat and rely on the air conditioner equipment or forced air furnace to successfully treat the high quality indoor air. I actually have to watch out for the air conditioner equipment and furnace each day, and when the A/C equipment or heating proposal stops working I’m pretty great at fixing them. However, I do have to contact the heating and cooling repair shop fairly often. What bothers me is that I never get the same heating and cooling contractor more than once. It seems like this HVAC repair shop has a large supply of HVAC professionals or a rotating staff of HVAC experts. I am constantly having to re-explain the HVAC issues to the newest contractor before they begin. In the amount of time I spend doing this, I could fix the air-conditioning equipment or furnace myself.

My friends and I were going to go camping for Memorial Day weekend.

We had three days in a row and we were going to spend them at the lake. I bought a new fishing pole and a bigger tackle box. I even bought a few lures just for big mouth bass. These special lures mimic the movement of real fish and they have great reviews. I found the perfect camping spot in the state park and we even had a site with water and electricity. They only have a couple sites with electricity, so making reservations early turned out to be a blessing. My friends and I were excited and we were counting down the day. About two weeks before the Memorial Day weekend camping trip, we experienced some record heat. I thought the heat would go away, but it continued right through Memorial Day weekend. My friends and I did not plan to go camping with temperatures in the 90 degree range. We tried to come up with a few ways to keep the tent cool. I looked at portable air conditioners, but they were too expensive. I even thought about using a window air conditioner from the house, but I couldn’t come up with a way to install the machine. My friends and I discussed the warm temperatures and we came up with several air conditioner ideas. We even thought about using a cold wet towel to make an evaporative cooler. Unfortunately, none of our ideas would have made the weekend comfortable so we decided to cancel the trip and plan another time at the lake.

I went on a diet several months ago and I have had extremely great success.

I don’t eat anything fried like french fries, chicken wings, or onion rings.

I don’t eat a lot of sweets like candy bars, cookies, and cakes. I also started exercising at the local fitness center and I try to go every day after work. I only take a break on the weekends when I spend time with my girlfriend. The diet has been a huge change in my life. I have a lot more energy and it has been very noticeable at work. I spend a lot of time outdoors and working on physical jobs. As an HVAC technician, I am constantly moving around. I’ve been able to tackle one or two more HVAC repair jobs each week and that has been a bump in my paycheck. I have noticed a downside to the weight loss. I was working on a customer HVAC tune up and my pants fell down. I need to buy new work pants, but I haven’t had the time. I was terribly embarrassed when my pants fell down and the customer could see my pineapple and watermelon boxer shorts. I was carrying a piece of equipment and I had to drop it on the grass to pick up my pants quickly. The customer wasn’t offended thankfully and she laughed loudly. I tightened my belt to the last notch and finished the rest of my day. When work was over, I went to Target and found a pair of pants that fit much better.

A lot of my customers are upset with the new fees that I have to charge.

I really don’t have any choice, because gas prices have doubled in the past four months.

Before summer, I was spending about $2 a gallon for gas. Now gas is more than $4 a gallon and it’s cutting into my profits. I’ve been in business for the past eight years and I have never charged a single customer a trip fee. A lot of HVAC companies will charge a trip fee if a customer is outside of their regular area. I have never charged a fee, but I had to start last month. With gas prices doubling in such a short time, I have no choice. Many of my customers are more than 40 miles away. In order to continue servicing these customers, I have to charge an extra fee for the longer distances. This is the only way that I can get away with keeping prices the same. I thought about raising the prices of many regular h3ac services, but I don’t want to hit customers in town with higher rates. 80% of my HVAC repair customers are in town and it’s important that they are happy with the company and the prices. They are a dozen different companies they can call for service. Until gas prices return to normal, I don’t have any other choice. I need to keep the business moving forward. I hope that I won’t lose too many customers over the trip fee, but it’s a chance I’m going to have to take.
