Reusable filters save the planet

I am really conscious about all of the trash in the world’s oceans. It is disgusting how much my buddy and I throw away. That trash will be floating around our world for thousands of years. And my buddy and I just keep adding to it. I know I can’t control what other people do but I have decided that my family is going to beginning doing our part to reduce waste. That means my buddy and I are using reusable grocery bags plus reusable face masks. My pal and I also don’t buy paper napkins or paper towels. Instead, my buddy and I use cloth ones. My pal and I shop at farmer’s markets as much as possible so that everything isn’t wrapped in plastic. Additionally, my buddy and I recently bought a reusable air filter for our HVAC system. I am embarrassed to say that it took me more than a few years to realize that reusable air filters are an option, but before, my buddy and I used to buy a modern filter every few months. The problem with disposable air filters is that they come wrapped in plastic, not only that but the metal, cardboard, plus fabric that makes up disposable filters also add to the waste problem in this planet. The disposable air filter, on the other hand, can be washed again plus again plus used for over a decade. That makes me legitimately glad. I am sure it makes the earth glad too. It is supper easy to wash the reusable filter too… You just take it out of your HVAC system, disinfect it down, then reinsert it. It is hardly any more labor than changing a disposable filter. Besides, it saves us a lot of money… Disposable filters cost about $20 each.

Ductless Mini Split Unit Was A Compromise

My spouse and I have been battling our son about the control unit settings and it’s been incredibly stressful, but our son begged to make the property on the second floor his dining room, and my spouse and I continuously told him no, but my friend and I didn’t have a problem with him using the property as his dining room because the space was rarely used anyway, however we knew that he would be uncomfortable! The heat in our home naturally rose up there, which is why we never used the property space to begin with; During the Summer months, our son would suffocate up there and there was nothing we could do about it; He pushed and pushed and we finally told him that he could make the property his dining room, however it would be hot! Everything was fine, until he began changing the control unit settings harshly.

He would lower the temperature by 10 degrees periodically, which not only affected the rest of the house, however it was costing a fortune! No matter what we did, our son would change the control unit settings and it was changing our bi-weekly utility bills, when my spouse and I realized that our son wasn’t going to provide up his dining room in the loft, we decided to try something new. My friend and I didn’t mind him using the space because like I said before, it never got used, however instead of affixing to the central Heating and Air Conditioning system, we decided to install a ductless mini split unit. It would run off of electricity and it was only responsible for cooling that area, which made it efficient!

air conditioner service plan

I wish I’d known about reusable air filters earlier

I don’t want any Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C troubles so I change my air filter, in my heating plus air conditioner, every single month.

This can be a little bit pricey but I believe it’s worth it.

I also have an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional come out plus wash plus check over my Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system at least twice a year too. I just want to keep everything running smoothly, however, I hate having to throw away the aged air filter every single month; it seems like such a waste, and additionally, air filters are not recyclable either. I brought up this problem last Springtime when the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier came out to wash my system. The professional told me about reusable air filters. I had no idea such a thing exists. Apparently, you just wash the reusable air filter plus then reuse it month after month plus they last over a decade. That’s over a hundred-twenty air filters not going into the landfill! Unfortunately, the professional did not have any reusable air filters with him at the time. However he did call his dispatcher plus was told that they have reusable air filters at the base. Better yet, another professional was driving through the section plus would be able to drop it off on his way. So my professional got my Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system all cleaned out plus then installed the reusable air filter before he left that afternoon. I feel good about it. I don’t know if I’m imagining it or not but I feel like the new air filter is working even better than the disposable ones. The air seems much cleaner plus healthier. I also will be saving hundreds of dollars by not having to buy disposable air filters every month anymore.

Local HVAC

I miss my childhood fireplace

I used to care about sitting next to the fireplace and studying when I was a kid.

The light from the flames provided enough light to learn by too so I could sneak out and learn and in the kitchen even after my mom called lights out, however of course, mom caught me studying from time to time. She would just remind me not to stay up too late and then she would leave me to my books. I ended up sleeping in that old couch by the fireplace more times that I slept in my own bed I think. My whole life, I just knew that when I grew up I will get a property with a fireplace, just like the one I had grown up in. Unfortunately, I ended up going to university in the south. This meant renting an apartment and, of course, no fireplace. With the heat of the south, there aren’t a lot of locations with fireplaces let alone apartments with fireplaces. My first Fall I started feeling really homesick and I found that studying just wasn’t the same without the glow or the stink of a fireplace. When my birthday came around, I wasn’t feeling actually cheerful however when I opened up the boxes that my mom sent and I was surprised to see that she had sent a little electric fireplace. She also sent some fireplace scented candles. The electric fireplace works as a space furnace too however it could also be used without any heat at all with just the flicker of the flames. It’s not super realistic, and not the real thing, however it’s about as close as I am going to get in the south. Thank you Mom.

I savor reading by the fireplace

I just savor getting lost in a wonderful book.

I have a kitchen with a fireplace & I spend most of my time in there sitting on my nice comfortable couch.

There’s no cable or video games in the kitchen either. I just want peace & quiet & to hear nothing however the crackling of the firewood. I like being able to escape from life for a bit & I can do this in books. The fireplace keeps me comfortable & warm & the crackle of the flames is really relaxing. I have to admit, on nights when it’s too overheated to use the fireplace, sometimes I turn on the air-conditioning just a bit so that the fireplace can still be used. I know this is a little crazy although I do like the fireplace bigly, but my fiance has asked me why I would waste energy on the a/c when I’m using the fireplace at the same time. She thinks it’s like using the gas boiler & a/c at the same time & it does not make any sense to her. I cannot blame her. This is pretty similar, however it’s not the same, but not to me anyway, but you do not get the same comfort from the gas boiler as you do from a fireplace. Besides, my associate and I all waste a little bit. My fiance prefers to take hour-long showers, for example, & I don’t bug his about wasting all that water. I know running the A/C & the fireplace at the same time is just the way that I am wasteful. Still, it doesn’t feel wasteful when I’m doing it.

I don’t want any Heating plus Air Conditioning complications so I change my air filter, in my heating & A/C, every single month.

This can be a little bit overpriced however I know it’s worth it.

I also have an Heating plus Air Conditioning contractor come out plus scrub plus check over my Heating plus Air Conditioning system at least twice a year too. I also will be saving hundreds of dollars by not having to buy disposable air filters every month anymore.

No service on A/C causes fire

I am super fatigued. I haven’t slept in about 36 hours and it is all because of my cooling system. Sunday started out as a proper morning: I went to work, got home, had supper, and started getting ready for bed, then just as I sit my head on my pillow I heard a awful screeching noise coming from my cooling system outside. I bolted out of bed to check it out. That is when I started smelling smoke. I turned off my A/C at the temperature control then I ran outside in my pajamas. That was when I was greeted by smoke coming out of my utility shed. I could also see flames through the cracks in the door. I knew better than to open the door and cause a flash over. Instead, I called the fire department. They arrived in just a few minutes and got my A/C fire under control. Needless to say, my A/C is completely ruined. Apparently it seized up, caught fire, and the fire spread to my tepid water heater. So now I don’t have a/c or tepid water. Thankfully my household was saved and there is almost no harm outside of the utility closet. Needless to say I got no sleep last night. This week I spent the whole morning calling up service companies. I got a plumber out this afternoon to substitute the tepid water heater. I then got an Heating and Air Conditioning company out to substitute my A/C. That cost quite a bit of currency. From now on I’m going to have my Heating and Air Conditioning system service properly so this doesn’t happen again.

No service on cooling system causes fire

I am super sleepy. I haven’t slept in about 36 hours as well as it is all because of my cooling system. Wednesday started out as a official day: I went to work, got home, had brunch, as well as started getting ready for bed. Just as I lay my head on my pillow I heard a bad screeching noise coming from my cooling system outside. I bolted out of bed to check it out. That is when I started odoring smoke. I turned off my a/c at the temperature control then we ran outside in my pajamas. That was when I was greeted by smoke coming out of my utility shed. I could also see flames through the cracks in the door. I knew better than to open the door as well as cause a flash over. Instead, I called the fire department. They arrived in just a few minutes as well as got my a/c fire under control. Needless to say, my a/c is completely ruined. Apparently it seized up, caught fire, as well as the fire spread to my sizzling water heater. So now I don’t have cooling system or sizzling water. Thankfully my home was saved as well as there is almost no detriment outside of the utility closet. Needless to say I got no sleep last night. This week I spent the whole day calling up repair companies. I got a plumber out this afternoon to replace the sizzling water heater. I then got an Heating plus A/C company out to replace my a/c. That cost quite a bit of money. From now on I’m going to have my Heating plus A/C system service officially so this doesn’t happen again.

HVAC systems can cause pollution

Since I worry about yellowcabin gasses plus the health of our planet I am regularly taking steps to try plus reduce my carbon footprint. I take public transportation as often as possible. I don’t support companies that are not earth conscious plus I am a vegan. After all, cows are one of the main sources of yellowcabin gasses. That is because they fart a lot. No, that is not a joke. Cows really are a immense source of pollution. One thing I didn’t realize was a immense pollution causer is our HVAC systems. I recently found out that leaking coolant is terrible for our ozone layer. That mostly applies to older HVAC systems though. New one don’t use that dangerous coolant, thankfully. However, an HVAC system that is not running efficiently also is terrible for the earth. This is because power is a sizable source of yellowcabin gasses. Heating plus cooling systems are the largest sources of power consumption in the average household. So if your HVAC system is not running efficiently that means it uses even more power plus causes even more yellowcabin gasses. This is tplot of even newer HVAC systems. Once I found that out I hired an HVAC supplier to come out to service my HVAC system plus make sure it is running efficiently. Thankfully, my system still has a good SEER rating. The HVAC supplier did clean up my system some so I can rest easy knowing I am doing all I can for planet earth. How about you? Is your HVAC system new plus running efficiently?
