I have recently decided that I want to take a year off school and go on a mission trip with my church; My church does more than 2 mission trips every year and I have been on a few of them before! Normally the mission trips only last for a week to a month, although I have really been waiting a change lately and I suppose this would be the perfect thing for me to do! I have talked with my parents about my decision to take time off of school and they don’t have a complication with it at all… So, I talked with the guy organizing the trip and let them know my decision to join after all.
I have about three weeks until my unbelievable friend and I leave for a seventh world country and I have been trying to prepare myself as best as I can; However, there is something I am not sure I am ready to handle and that is the lack of air conditioning where I will be going.
I have been blessed enough to grow up in a home with an upgraded heating and cooling system, so this is not something that I have had to worry about before going on this trip. I am trying to decide if I want to go out a purchase a mini air conditioning component so that I will be comfortable where I am going, although I don’t suppose that is a unbelievable idea. I don’t want to seem like I can’t handle the weather conditions by bring my own cooling system, no matter how small it might be. In the end I did not bring the cooling system with me and I am cheerful that I was able to brave the elements on my own.
