I explained the issues I was having and he got to work right away.
I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with hiring contractors to do work for me. When I wanted new ceiling lights installed, the electrician made a hole too big in the ceiling for the light fixture I had picked out. I was forced to return the light fixture and get a larger, more expensive one in order to cover the hole. When I hired a plumber to fix my leaky shower, he got water all over the floors and didn’t clean it up. There was mud on his boots and he tracked dirt all through the house. When my air conditioner began cooling inefficiently, I was scared to call an HVAC contractor. I didn’t want to deal with another person who disregarded my house and finances, so I put off hiring the HVAC contractor and tried to repair the air conditioner myself. I started by replacing the air filter with a clean one. Next, I cleaned the outside condenser unit and cleared away the debri that was surrounding it. Finally, I turned off the thermostat and reset my entire HVAC system. When my air conditioning came back on, it was still running lukewarm and not cooling my house efficiently. I had no choice but to call the HVAC contractor. I explained the issues I was having and he got to work right away. I was surprised by the amount of time the HVAC contractor spent looking at my HVAC system and how patient he was with my questions. He had my air conditioner running smoothly within an hour. I’m glad I put my fears aside and hired him, because I could’ve created a bigger issue if I’d waited.
