As my youngsters get older, they become more responsible & they make a lot more of their decisions. I try not to get involved in their personal choices unless it’s absolutely necessary. The other week, I arrived apartment to find a giant box sitting on our doorstep & I study that it was for my daughter. I couldn’t guess of anything that my child possibly needed that was that large, but she was excited about it when she got home. I asked her what she ordered, & she told me that it was a portable cooling system. I didn’t guess I heard her right because an cooling system seemed like an unregular appliance for my teenage child to be buying. I try not to micromanage what she spends her money on, however it was unregular because I had never heard her complain about the temperature before. I asked her why she ordered a portable cooling system & she offered me an even more strange answer, and according to her, whenever she had sleepovers with her friends, they were consistently complaining about the temperature of the house. I didn’t guess there was anything wrong with the temperature, however her friends seemed to guess so. My child knew better than to touch the control component settings, so she had to get creative. This is what led her to buying a portable cooling system. I dislike that she spent her money on this to please her friends, although I was delighted that she took the responsibility upon herself & she didn’t change the control component settings.
