We needed the heating system at night

Although May brings some hot mornings to our area, we frequently require the heating system at night.

The sunsets, and there’s a noticeable chill in the air. I usually wrap blankets around myself and cocoon myself for the night, but my husband is the polar opposite. She sleeps with the blankets wrapped around his waist, legs, and arms exposed. He’s backed up against me to get warm on occasion, but it doesn’t last long. He scoots to the edge of the bed after she gets his back sizzling. She once told me that if he had wanted to cuddle up next to the heating system, he would have been born a pet, but he chose me instead, so with the arrival of warmer weather this month, I turned off the heating system. I was confident that the heat of the day would keep us warm all night. I was going to light a fire in the fireplace to warm up from the day’s chill. My husband thought it was a good idea until the temperature dropped below freezing one night. She wasn’t just backed up against me, I was hanging off the bed, and he was wrapping his arms around me to keep warm. If I wanted to get warm, I had to get out of bed, turn on the heating system, and then crawl into his side of the bed. When he awoke in the morning, he demanded to know why I had pushed him off his pillow and blamed me for his stiff neck. I apologized and explained that I had gotten up to start the heating system and had moved over. It was the only place to rest.
