I tend to be one of those people who really likes having my life free of stuff that isn’t helping me.
This is true with both my stuff and my relationships. That may sound harsh but the longer I’ve lived the more I realize that I really don’t need to have stuff in my life that drags me down. When I’m at work in the zone controlled HVAC of our offices, I do my job and I do it well. However, I don’t feel the need to try and impress or manipulate people to gain any sort of advantage. And that sort of goes against the way things can be in the business I’m in. For years, I played that game but finally figured out there’s no value in it. This fits with my game plan of just keeping what’s of value in my life and letting go of the stuff that is negative or cynical. And there is plenty of value in all aspects of my life. Take the HVAC equipment for an example. I live in a nice home and the HVAC equipment is state of the art residential HVAC. It’s a valuable asset and an investment in essential heating and cooling comfort for my home. So I find that there is great value in making sure that this HVAC equipment lasts a long time and runs well every single season, year in and year out. To that end, I signed up for the HVAC service plan the very first year the HVAC company offered it. And I kept it going when I replaced the old HVAC equipment with what I have now. There is no doubt that HVAC maintenance is of value to me and I simply won’t do without it.
