The A/C tech mentioned replacing the HVAC unit soon

I decided to do some research to see the cost of purchasing and installing a new HVAC unit.

For 5 years now, I have lived in our townhome, and I bought it because I needed more room for me and my dog Marley! She is a small 15 pound cavapoo and she is the most adorable dog ever. She prefers to play with her toys, and I wanted her to have a space for that, and our townhome was perfect for her because I have a small fenced in yard where she spends much of her day. She comes in when she gets bored or wants something to eat. So all in all, Marley and I feel right at home here. Well, this new home has been great, but I have run into one issue. I just had our air conditioning run tests on, and our HVAC specialist mentioned that I will need to replace the unit soon. The system is about 19 years old, and with regular maintenance over the years, it has been working efficiently! But I have observed that it is not cooling as it did before, and when I mentioned that to our A/C its efficiency. So, I know that I will eventually need a new unit. I decided to do some research to see the cost of purchasing and installing a new HVAC unit. I found that it will cost between $3,500 to $10,000 depending on the size of our new home and the size of the cooling unit. Thankfully, our townhome is only 1,600 square feet, so the cost of the unit will be on the lower end. When it comes time to replace our unit, I will have our HVAC specialist to give an estimate for the entire thing.
