The A/C device is losing efficiency

For 5 years now, I have lived in our townhome.

I purchased it because I needed more room for me and our cat Marley, she is a small 15 pound cavapoo and she is the most adorable dog ever. She enjoys playing with her toys, and I wanted her to have an area for that, and our townhome was perfect for her because I have a small fenced in yard where she spends much of her morning. She comes in when she gets bored or wants something to eat. So all in all, Marley and I feel right at home here, this cabin has been great, despite the fact that I have run into one issue. I just had our a/c worked on, and my HVAC specialist mentioned that I will need to replace the device soon, the method is about 19 years old, and with typical service over the years, it has been now working efficiently, but I have noticed that it is not cooling as it did before, and when I mentioned that to our HVAC specialist, he concluded that the method is losing its efficiency. So, I feel that I will eventually need a modern unit. I decided to do some research to see the cost of purchasing and installing a modern HVAC unit. I found that it will cost between $3,500 to $10,000 depending on the size of my home and the size of the HVAC unit. Thankfully, our townhome is only 1,600 square feet, so the cost of the device will be on the lower end. When it comes time to replace our unit, I will have our HVAC specialist to give a quote for the entire thing.
