My son wants to put a heating system in the barn

My son is so crazy about all of his animals that sometimes, he just goes overboard.

He drives me crazy talking about his goats and his pigs and his horses all the time.

I mean, I’m glad that he loves his animals and everything, and I would definitely much rather him have them as a hobby than something like video games or dungeons and dragons, but sometimes he drives me nuts with all of his talk about the animals out in the barn. At this point in the year whenever the weather is finally cooling off, he’s starting to panic about his animals getting too cold out there in the barn during the cold, winter nights. He has started begging me to get a heating system put out in the barn for the animals for this year. He says that he’s afraid that they are just going to get too cold and that they might even freeze to death. I don’t think that they are going to be too cold at all. I mean, animals have lived in barns without furnaces for hundreds of years now, and they have always been fine with their building, hay, and body heat. I think that they will be just fine throughout the winter this year, too. We aren’t even expecting really cold temperatures around here this winter, anyway. I think my son is just paranoid about the fact that the animals need a heating system out there. I feel like anything that we end up putting up out there for extra heat will be a fire hazard.
