I think that my sister keeps her house way too cold all the time. I really have no idea what’s going on over there, but maybe they can’t afford their heating bills or something. I really don’t think that’s it though because she and her husband both make really good money at their jobs. However, the last few times I have been over to her house, the inside of her house felt like I was standing inside of a meat locker! When I was standing in her kitchen shivering, she looked at me like there was something wrong with me. I asked her why it was so cold in her house and she said that she did not notice it anymore. She said that she and her husband had decided to do a little experiment with their heating system. They thought that they could get their bodies accumulated to the lower temperatures and therefore save a lot of money on their heating bills for the winter. And that’s why their thermostat settings were set to 62 degrees inside of the house. When she told me this little bit of news, I just stared at her like she was crazy. This was the weirdest thing that I have ever heard of. It’s the middle of the winter, and the temperatures around here sometimes get below freezing! I don’t know why in the world anyone would want to keep their thermostat settings so low if they don’t have to. I guess I won’t be going back over to my sister’s house until the spring when the weather starts heating up again.
