My husband and I have had furnace troubles forever.
It seems like we just can’t get away from having a problematic furnace.
In our last house, our furnace quit in the middle of January. It was around twenty degrees outside, and our pipes ended up freezing before we were able to get a new furnace installed. We weren’t home for the first day and a half that the furnace was off, so that did not help. If we would have been there, we could have saved the pipes for sure. We ended up moving about two years ago, and now, we are having trouble with our furnace here. It is not old, but it has had issues in the past. The previous owners said that they had trouble with the furnace about five years ago, but they had an HVAC company come and fix it, and they hadn’t had any trouble since that time. It seems to randomly turn off before the house is up to temperature. We don’t know why it is doing this, and we don’t want to call and HVAC company just yet because we have worked with a few companies in the past, and they are quite pricey. The HVAC company that we used for our old furnace issues was great. They did a really good job, and the technicians that came to help were so kind and respectful. One of them even cleaned half of the basement so they would have room to work, but he went the extra mile, and cleaned it extremely well. If we do end up having to call a professional, we will definitely go with that HVAC company. Even though they did a wonderful job, it was still expensive, so we don’t want to call unless it’s necessary.
