I needed a new line of work.

I had been working as a plumber for almost ten years, and I was getting bored.

I moved on to working as an electrician.

I couldn’t believe that working in electricity could be so boring. I was doing the same job over and over, and I was becoming clumsy. I was forgetting to turn off the power before working on it. It only took me five years to want to quit this profession. I thought I may be nothing but a deadbeat. It wouldn’t matter how good the job, I would never be happy with it. Over the next five years, I was a bartender, a server, and I even worked with a construction crew. I had to find something that I enjoyed and didn’t bore me. I talked to my uncle, and I asked him if he had any ideas. He asked me if I wanted to try working for him. I wasn’t even sure what he did. When I asked him, he cuffed me upside the head. He said it was no wonder I couldn’t find a job that satisfied me. I didn’t pay attention to what I was doing, or I could find something that was enjoyable. He then told me he owned the company my father used to work in before he died. He owned the HVAC company, and he offered me a job. He told me he would take me on as his apprentice. He would teach me all about HVAC and if I enjoyed it, he would send me to school for HVAC certification. That was almost ten years ago, and I am loving being an HVAC technician.
