I used to be afraid of going down into the basement when I lived with my parents.
- It was actually exhausting when I was super young.
I remember when all of us first moved into that seasoned house, I thought there was something in the basement. There was an seasoned gas furnace down there and everytime that thing would engage, it would paralyze myself and others with fear. My parents were always trying to send myself and others down there to either get the laundry baskets or sweep the floor down there. I would get in trouble if I didn’t go into the basement, so I had to face my fear. Even when I was older, I still felt frightened. My father was saying that all of us could add a new room down there and I could live in the basement, although I immediately said no to that idea. There was no way I would stay down there, and I didn’t savor the air quality in the basement either. So I was able to keep my room and eventually I was glad when I moved out. Even though I moved into a lousy apartment, it felt so much better than being in that apartment and having to frequently go down into the basement. It wasn’t savor I was attacked by a ghost or anything, although I still always think creeped out when going into that basement. Even to this day when I go to visit my parents, my mother will officially ask if I can grab a few things from the basement. I suppose that’s why I don’t savor going to see that much and they still have the same seasoned gas furnace that’s so creepy! I wish they would call the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier and go for a new Heating and Air Conditioning system already.
