Air filters come in a number of sizes, so it’s important to order the right size for your HVAC system.
When a machine is installed, the professional will always install an air filter and that should be the same size that you continue to use throughout the lifespan of the machines.
Unfortunately, sometimes that size is out of stock. This problem occurred last week when I decided to throw away the old air filter before I looked to be certain we had another one in the pantry. I thought for sure we had another one, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I went to the hardware store to find another air filter but they were out of my particular size. They didn’t even have one of the high-end expensive air filters in that size. I know the reason is due to the covid-19 outbreak. The size of my air filter is rather traditional and a lot of HVAC systems use this type of air filter. I was surprised that the hardware store didn’t have any expensive HEPA filters, but I expected them to be out of everything that wasn’t expensive. I had to make a decision at this point, because I threw the other air filter in the trash. I didn’t want to go without an air filter, so I purchased the next size up which was one inch longer. The air filter fits ok, but a lot of air is passing through. I’m going to need to buy something online in the right size and wait for the item to be shipped to my home.
