Usually as a HVAC technician, I get to repair a lot of people’s air conditioners and furnaces.
But every now and then, I end up doing commercial HVAC repair, in restaurants and stores.
I had that a week ago, when I put in the address for the next place I was to perform HVAC installation it led to a small store. The owner greeted me at the store, and started explaining the issue. Apparently his cooling device went out about 6 months ago, and when he failed to fix it himself, he bought a cheap window air conditioner online. This store was big, and I knew as soon as he said he bought a window A/C that that was a mistake. Seconds later, he told me what a mistake that was, since the window cooling unit did absolutely nothing to cool the store down. I told him that his best course of action would be to get a new commercial HVAC unit. It seemed the guy was desperate, because he agreed very fast. He told me that ever since the A/C unit broke down, he has barely been able to make any sales. I don’t blame the customers, because the inside of his store was cramped, overheated and had a slight funky smell. Within hours, I was able to install the new air conditioner for the guy, who seemed incredibly glad. I gave him advice to also get a whole home media air cleaner, because his place didn’t smell the best. Air purifiers are great at improving indoor air quality and removing smells. The guy’s eyes lit up at the idea, and made an order with my cooling corporation.
