Staying engaged with your workout program

It is very easy to get caught up in the glitz and glamour of a fad.

  • Something gets super popular all of a sudden, it seems like everyone is talking about it, and then it just feels like something you want to do as well.

A couple months later everyone is talking about something new, and you are thinking “why did I buy this again? It isn’t that great at all!” This is the power of suggestion at work. Please remember the best things in life don’t cost a lot (although they usually aren’t free) and when it comes to physical fitness, never get caught up in a fad. There are all different kinds of physical fitness training classes out there, some more popular than others, but the important thing is to find one that works for you. If the physical fitness program isn’t engaging and doesn’t make you excited for the next class, then look for a new one. I have found that although fads come and go, if we stick with the things we love to do, then we never lose our enthusiasm for a workout program. I remember how into Zumba me and my friends all were, and at the time everyone loved it so there were waiting lists for the Zumba workout classes. After a few months, there were no wait lists for Zumba, and it had been replaced by another program, and hot yoga classes were all the rage. Staying active and engaged is essential, so stick with a workout program that is fun for you.
