I was a big city girl, born and raised, so when my folks moved us out into the country when I was 16 it was a rough few months.
I had to adjust to a new house, a new school, new friends, but more than that I had to adjust to a whole new way of life.
The people in the country are different than city folk, they move at a slower pace and seem to have a different approach to life. Also there was hardly anything to do out here! No shopping malls, no movie theater, this town didn’t even have a gym! I will be the first to admit that I was pretty bad about hitting the gym, something I regret now. Even then, on my worst week I would still make it to the gym at least once. Yoga classes were available seven nights a week, so when I wasn’t feeling like a full work out I would still go to hot yoga. If I ever get the chance to go to a 24 hour gym, I will never take it for granted again, I promise. The best I have been able to do so far is an online, digital personal training service. My personal trainer is named Anne, and she actually lives over a thousand miles away from me! She is really great at her job, but it just isn’t the same as being in the same room with a personal trainer, where they can see you sweat and pump you up in person. Zoom just isn’t the same!
