When my buddy was telling me that I should invest in HEPA filters, I completely laughed at him. He seemed serious and asked why I was even laughing. I told me that there were all kinds of benefits to using HEPA filters. I told him I was laughing because all air filters are basically the same and the more expensive ones are just a scam to get your money. He told me he begged to differ. He told me that HEPA filters pull 99.9% of the contaminants from the air. When I asked him how he knew they could pull that much. I also asked him why they couldn’t pull 100% of the contaminants, what was up with that .1%? He said it would be impossible to pull all the contaminants even though it was probably a little less than 99.9%. I felt like I couldn’t trust the HEPA filters for the simple fact that they boasted they could pull so many contaminants from the air, but my buddy said I had to try them to see for myself. He even told me he would pay for me to have one HEPA filter. He wasn’t lying too, he got me a HEPA filter the next day and I installed it. I told him it wouldn’t make much of a difference. Well, he even had a gadget that measures the air quality. He sampled the air quality in my home and had me write down the number, so I could actually see how much my air quality would improve. About two weeks later, he tested the air quality again in my house and it was phenomenal. I didn’t even need that gadget to tell me, my buddy was right. I felt great having cleaner breathing air and I decided I would invest in HEPA filters moving forward.
