A couple of years ago, I bought a very old house.
- I planned to remodel the place over time working on one project at a time.
I renovated the master bedroom first and I knocked out a wall to make the whole bathroom much bigger. I added a double sink and vanity and a separate shower and garden tub. Recently, I have been working on the flooring in the living room. It’s been a large and difficult job, because a lot of the wood in the subflooring needs to be replaced. I work full time as a fitness instructor. When I’m not at the gym, I’m home working on the house. I was at the gym when the furnace fire started. My sister called me at the gym where I work. The neighbor tried to call me, but the telephone was in my locker at the gym. My sister told the manager that it was an emergency and he found me in the cycling room. My sister told me to leave work immediately and head to the house. My entire house and all of my work was up in flames when I arrived at the scene. I’m totally and completely devastated and I don’t know how to start over. The fire chief told me that the furnace caused the fire. I performed a thorough tune-up on the furnace a few months ago. I thought the furnace looked great, but now I will second guess every decision I make when it comes to the maintenance and upkeep in my home. I feel like my whole life ended when the fire began.
