I wish that I had gotten my radiant heated flooring years ago! Of course, years ago, I did not know that anything called radiant heated flooring even existed.
- Then last year, our HVAC technician told me about radiant heated flooring when he was here working on our forced air furnace.
We had been having all kinds of trouble with our old electric furnace and we were looking into a new type of heating system. That’s when he explained to us how great he thinks Radiant heated flooring is. Radiant heated flooring is a form of central heating that achieves indoor climate control using electrical heating elements that are inside of the floor. Apparently, it’s a really old system of heating, but I had never really heard of it before. After he mentioned it to us, I did a whole lot of research about it because it sounded like something that I would really be interested in. It turns out that radiant heated flooring can have a positive effect on the indoor air quality in your home. That’s simply because of the flooring type that you end up using with this heating system. Tile or slate is much better for your indoor air quality than carpet might be, in other words. Also heating through your floor helps with moisture control and you don’t end up with mold, bacteria, or dust mites that might come through the air ducts that are used with a regular forced air heating system. You end up with fewer allergens in your house if you use radiant heated flooring.
