Once the HVAC unit was replaced and the house was on the market, I was stunned by how quickly it sold
There really wasn’t anything to like about selling the family home for me. I wasn’t eager to move. The idea of living in a much smaller place wasn’t appealing. And I really liked where I lived and all the memories and comfort of the family home. I also was not looking forward to the upfront costs like replacing the HVAC equipment that come with putting a house on the market. However, I knew my wife was right about selling our family home. The time was drawing near where keeping it up was going to be just too much. This much was true and my wife is a lot smarter than I am so I was in on the plan to sell the house. Sure enough, during the realtor’s initial visit, the HVAC unit was pointed out. While it wasn’t yet on its last legs, it was almost 20 years old. In this area, we deal with heat for about 8 months of the year to one degree or another. So, HVAC cooling is a big thing around here. And having new HVAC technology and up to date residential HVAC is a must. I sort of knew this going in so I wasn’t all that surprised when the realtor said the HVAC unit for sure had to be replaced. Meeting with the HVAC contractor was rather painless and he provided me with HVAC equipment options that would be a big selling point. Once the HVAC unit was replaced and the house was on the market, I was stunned by how quickly it sold. And we got a price for our home that is still a bit staggering to me. That made replacing the HVAC unit a whole lot more palatable.
