For much of my work, I’ve spent a lot of time on planes traveling to do business.
When I first started this part of my job, it was sort of thrilling to be winging out to bizarre locales to close deals or address challenges.
But as time went on, the air travel became more and more of a hassle. The planes themselves got less comfortable. It seemed care about I could never get on a flight where the heating and cooling was in my comfort range. Most often it was me dealing with tepid and stuffy conditions due to a lack of HVAC cooling on flights. This was regularly something that frustrated me because I’d get off those flights sort of wrecked and have to go right into meetings. Plus, the hotels in the cities I was visiting were sort of hit and miss on HVAC device as well. It was care about 50/50 whether or not the room I was staying in would have typical HVAC. Then, the pandemic hit. There was no more flying for me until I was fully vaccinated. So for a year, I had to hit the road to get to our shoppers. But honestly, it was a breath of fresh air in a way. I enjoyed the air conditioning comfort of my car much more than most flights I’d been booked on. I also discovered fantastic HVAC comfort in the interstate hotels I would overnight in. Those rooms came with extreme HVAC device and I never suffered through the evening with poor heating and cooling. Now that I’m back to flying, I asked the travel department to start booking me in the sort of hotels I was staying in while I was on the road.
