Getting a house ready for vacancy

We spend our time between many separate homes! We spend the winter plus fall at our smaller condo in the south, plus the spring plus summer time up north.

And no matter which residence I’m at, I never want to leave.

I settle into a routine plus dread making a change. It’s taxing to prepare the condo to rest vacant for many months, plus it’s a wonderful deal of work to open up a condo that’s been left empty for so long. And there’s regularly dust plus bugs plus webs to deal with. The gardens plus sod are properly overgrown, however when I transport out of the condo down south, I make sure to put a little bit of bleach in the toilets to prevent mold growth. The heat plus moisture of the building can cause quite a few problems. I turn off the water completely, so there is no opening of leaks or flooding, but I leave the cooling system running. I turn the control unit up to 73 degrees so that the cooling system doesn’t need to cycle on genuinely often. I’d rather not pay high electric bills on an empty condo however I’m also hoping to avoid destruction from mildew. When I arrive up north, there’s regular problems caused by the severe winter chilly plus heavy snow… Even with the oil furnace running at a genuinely low speed, the temperature fluctuations within the condo results in a wonderful deal of expanding plus contracting. There’s often current cracks in the walls plus even cracks in the window panes. There’s the fear of the water pipes freezing plus bursting or the roof caving from the weight of the immense degree snow. If something were to go wrong with the oil furnace, I’d have seriously luxurious issues on our hands.
